When special demands and perfectionism meet, disappointment often is not far. Not with this bike. This meticulously designed Xenon frame weighs in at just 925g (2lbs) and its optimized STW ratio powers our pro riders forward to further race wins - while its reasonable price will shock many high-end competitors. Caution: In custom set-up this machine might easily get below the weight limit of 6.8kg (15lbs) dictated by the UCI. We do not want you to get into trouble!

Technology

High Modulus Carbon Fibers

Only the very best materials are used for the highest quality STEVENS carbon frames - so called high modulus carbon fibres. They offer a perfect combination of maximum toughness and elasticity. This way they provide maximum lateral stiffness for best forward drive and a high amount of comfort. Result: incredibly light and enormously stiff frames.

Tapered Seat Tube

The seat tube tapers from top to bottom. At the top it fits a slim 27.2mm seatpost that offers some flex and therefore increases comfort especially when riding over rough ground. At the bottom the large diameter nicley flows into the bottom bracket shell and downtube to provide great stiffness and drivetrain efficiency.

Di2-ready

Elektronische Schaltungen haben sich am Rennrad und am Mountainbike neben den klassischen mechanischen Schaltungen längst etabliert. Bestechend schnelle und zuverlässige Gangwechsel bei minimalem Wartungsaufwand machen sich eben nicht nur bei der Tour de France oder im Cyclocross-Worldcup oder auf den Cross Country-Weltcup-Strecken bezahlt. Und genau darum sind viele Rennrad- und Mountainbikerahmen von STEVENS bereits „Di2-ready“ – sprich: für die nahtlose Integration von Akkus und Kabeln (anstelle der herkömmlichen Seilzüge) vorbereitet. Und selbst für seine edle Alfine-Nabenschaltung bietet Shimano eine Elektronik-Version an.

Reifenfreiheit bis 28 mm

Systemlaufräder

Mittlerweile haben sogar die Straßenprofis bei der Tour de France erkannt, dass breitere Reifen schneller rollen. Und sind es nicht diese kleinen Nebensträßchen mit ihrer häufig zweifelhaften Asphalt-Qualität, die am meisten Spaß machen? Wer jedenfalls häufiger auf Strecken mit weniger glattem Untergrund unterwegs ist, kann seine Rennmaschine mit bis zu 28 mm breiten Reifen bestens darauf vorbereiten – und dann von mehr Fahrkomfort profitieren.

Tapered Steerer / Tapered Headtube

Fork shaft (or steerer tube) and head tube are tapered, meaning their diameter increases from top to bottom resulting in a conical shape. The diameter needs to be bigger at the bottom since this is where higher stress is applied. Riders will benefit from a noticeable higher steering precision almost without weight penalty. Also tapered steerers feature a smoother force transfer (like forces caused by hard braking) to the downtube than forks with a continuous 1 1/8" diameter.

Comfort Carbon Seatpost

Who wants to be fast does not need to suffer – especially not when their STEVENS Carbon road bike is equipped with a Scorpo Carbon SL Comfort Seatpost which filters annoying road buzz. Its diameter of 27.2mm only and dedicated fibre orientation enable better flex without adding weight or loosing stability. By the way: the post can also be retrofitted.

Full Carbon Fork

The most intelligent way of lightweight design for STEVENS engineers is to use carbon forks with 100% carbon fibers that run all way though from dropout to steerer tube in one single piece. This results in an amazing riding experience on and off-road: Lightweight, knife-sharp steering precision effortless climbing and maximum lateral stiffness even when combined with disc brakes.

Versatile cable routing

We keep the cable routing on our bikes as versatile as possible so you can ride your bike like you want to. There are wide and therefore easy to reach cable ports in the frame to insert either one or two cables or none at all - there are cover plugs for any of these configurations. This is also very convenient for retrofitting a dropper post.
